Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was born on 6th March 1475 in a place called Caprese near Arezzo, Italy. He was an artist, poet, sculptor and engineer. He is still the most well-known High Renaissance man of the 16th century. Michelangelo’s interest in art began as a small child. His father did not want this. He had already drawn his first male figure when he turned thirteen. Although little is known about his training as a sculptor, it is something he used later in life. Painting became his passion later on.
Buonarotti arrived at the Domenico Workshop in 1488. There he spent around three years developing his art. After meeting Lorenzo De Medici, Buonarotti was in the spotlight by 1489. Michelangelo realized his true calling, under Lorenzo De Medici protection. The Magnificent criticised his first work as a young sculpturer. His art was improved over the years and he proved to be a genius by living his life as one. He is the only artist to have achieved such a high level of excellence in many art fields that no other artist has done so historically. His masterpieces in painting stand out from the rest. His contribution to Architecture was also significant, including the Plan of Facade. Michelangelo was optimistic about the quality of his work and pessimistic regarding his poetry. His artwork was mainly composed of paintings and sculptures which represented the natural state of humanity. Michelangelo’s poetry, despite Strazzi complimenting it, was overwhelmingly pessimistic. His sculptures encouraged optimism. Michelangelo displays a lot of optimism after completing The Tomb of Pope Julius II. He considered sculpture to be his main goal, and perhaps the love of all his life. It is clear that Michelangelo was able to see both the positives as well as the negatives in life by his work that mixed optimism and pessimism. This is a sign that he was a person with a stable and full personality. Michelangelo, who was living in Rome at the time, faked an ancient Sleeping Cupid statue. This brought him to prominence. He stayed long in Rome to help him pursue his Artistic ambitions. The Vatican Pieta was his first work. This was the basis for all his subsequent works. Because it depicted Jesus’ mother Mary holding him on her lap, after his death, the Vatican Pieta was a well-known piece of Rome work. Since it represented their main beliefs, the Vatican people liked this piece. They were amazed at how a stone block could be transformed into something that was so different from the natural world. It is important to understand the meaning of artwork after seeing it. Michelangelo’s Pieta piece perfectly portrayed themes like passion, weakness and youthfulness. The statue of David was his other masterpiece. This theme was heavily influenced by King David’s Bible story. Michelangelo was given this work to complete, after it had been neglected for forty years. It represented the freedom that Florentineans had achieved. This marble statue was sculpted. It is more than five meters high. Its height is over five meters. This shows how much talent and skill Michelangelo had. There are many controversies surrounding the statue of David’s completion. But, it is well-known that Michelangelo was the one responsible for bringing it to life. This statue is a symbol of strength. The statue is symbolic of strength. David has fiery eyes, which show his courage in defeating Goliath. Michelangelo excelled in painting as another medium of expression. Many people are still baffled by the Sistine Chapel paintings. It took nearly four years for this work to be completed. The collection includes nude characters from several Bible stories. These figures are painted using bright colors which evoke different emotions depending on the person who is viewing them. While the controversy surrounding Michelangelo’s use of nude images erupted, many people claimed it was immoral. The pope however, stood strongly in his defense. These Art are an indication of Michelangelo’s Art’s durability. He was finally able to finish this work. This is where The Last Judgment was created. This work represented the second coming Jesus judgement and the sinful people who would be cast into hell. Fresco paintings like this one instill fear in the viewer. The characters in the panting, in contrast to his earlier works, are very fearful and strong-looking. This is a warning to all human beings that they must fear God to avoid the everlasting damnation. Fresco painting was a feat of skill. Michelangelo’s masterpiece of art was created on a new plaster. A pavilion that was high up in the ceiling was where Michelangelo could delicately give the fresco what it deserved. Michelangelo was humble and claimed that he wasn’t an architect. Despite his many contributions to designs that were eventually implemented after his passing, this is still a shame. The Lauretian Library shows his free-will approach to structures. The interior design of this building was revolutionary and made a significant impact on history. After dedicating 18 years, the St Peters Basilica building was completed. His background in sculpture and painting was a huge advantage. He was able to achieve things that few others were unable to achieve. He was skilled at sketching and adding to his designs as new ideas came up. If he wanted to execute his sketches, he used every inch of space available. Since his completion, such works as the Dome, St Peters, or the symmetrical planning, are still being used today. Michelangelo’s ideas about architecture were a key factor in the rebirth today of architectural designs. Michelangelo also ventured into other areas, although he did not contribute much to them. There are many poems that have been translated into English and are associated with Michelangelo. These poems reveal his weaknesses and strengths, as well as his pessimism. Celestial Love was one of his poems. The Doom of Beauty was another. It is clear that Michelangelo was born with something special. This made him stand out in many ways and had a different impact on people’s daily lives. Michelangelo summarizes the 15th-century’s sculptural innovations. He was close to popes, princes, kings and painters. Although he wasn’t an easy person to understand, it was not hard to get along with him. Poetry was his preferred form of expression, as it allowed him to express his deepest emotions more than other art forms. These poems reflect his personal experiences and hardships. He was more than a mere mortal being, which is why the Renaissance poets called him a divine angel. His arrogance was probably the reason that some saw him negatively. Because nature was not perfect, he was driven by it. This thought enabled him to accept all people and view them as one. He was a very wealthy man but lived as a poor man because he did not prioritize material things. Michelangelo received the most prestigious honors for his exceptional achievements. Michelangelo was without question one of Italy’s most important artists during the High Renaissance period. He was a painter, sculptor, poet, and an architect. His influence on Western art has been immense. He was not only a great artist, but he revolutionized the entire art industry. No one else had attempted to incorporate nudity into their artworks before he. Michelangelo is credited with revolutionizing art since the 15th Century. In-text citations
